How did people try to stop The Black Death?

Medieval doctors believed that the plague was created by air, humid weather, decaying unburied bodies and fumes produced by poor sanitation. In china on December 31, 1899 the bored of health set fire to burn any suspected building that might have been infected with the disease. They originally planed to burn only a few buildings and thought they could control the flames but the fire got out of control burning down neighbouring building. The fire caused many homes to be destroyed and an estimated 4,000 people were left homeless.

Where is The Black Death Today?

In Asia and south-eastern Europe plague is distributed from the Caucasus mountains in Russia thought out china and then southwards to southwest and southeast Asia. The plague regularly occurs in Madagascar. In some towns and villages in England there are still the old market crosses which have a depression at the foot of the stone cross. This depression was filled with vinegar during times of the Bubonic Plague as it was believed that vinegar would kill any germs on the coins and so contain the disease. There are many areas in London where building is prohibited these areas used to be the Plague pits and contain the remains of victims. To this day there are still fears of re-awakening this deadly virus in London
